The Speculative Collective is a writing critique group formed in 2008, which caters to all varieties of speculative fiction writing. Our group meets once monthly to share our science fiction, fantasy, or even more unusual writing with each other. Work is posted in advance, and then critiqued at the meetup by everyone in the group, from those just starting out to the more experienced, published writers in our group.

When the audience has to conjure their own interpretation to an event based on what's implied or not vis …

This Meetup Group is for people with an interest in all-things-science to get together, and not just on Saturdays. Maybe you often find yourself starting to tell a science-related story at a party, only to trail off awkwardly when you realize that you're not as clear on the details as you thought. Or your friends are hinting that they'd really rather not hear about Planet Earth anymore. Quite possibly, while others reminisce about Saturday morning cartoons, you fondly recall watching Mr. Wiza …

The owners of the location have given us the choice of Tuesday or Thursday nights or Saturday afternoon. WHY: Because we will become proactive and productive in our writing endeavors.
